Nestled in centuries-old Scots Pine Forest, the Award Winning Woodman’s eco hut is a romantic hideaway almost entirely crafted from its surroundings.
“We stayed in the Woodmans Hut and it was absolutely perfect for me and my husband. We booked our honeymoon with Sarah and Phil and they are 2 of the loveliest people that you could meet. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The view that you wake up to every morning outside is just breathtaking. It was so peaceful and relaxing for us. We can’t wait to go back and stay there again xxx”. Gemma and Luke, Ireland, March 2020.
Lounge in the breathtaking landscape that unfolds before you; a vast moorland providing the foreground to the majestic uninterrupted Cairngorms National Park Northern Corries and Ryvoan Pass winding its way to Rothiemurchus Estate and Aviemore. Luxurious and laid back, this fully off-grid retreat is for couples who want to relax, recharge and reconnect.

Need to Know
The Woodman’s eco hut is self-catering however we can provide you with a Lazy Breakfast Hamper consisting of home baked bread, eggs from our hens, homemade muesli, local jams butter, milk and from mid-summer onwards enjoy salads and vegetables from our garden. Our hampers can be pre-booked or arranged before you arrive.
We ask that lit chimeneas and cooking stoves are never left unattended. Please don’t approach the pond or wander amongst the ducks, but do watch them from the Welcoming Seat overlooking the water.
You will find recycling arrangements clearly marked for all separated waste materials. Protective slates are provided and must be used beneath all cooking stoves & hot pots to avoid any burn marks on the grass & shelter surfaces.
The Lazy Duck is a peaceful place. Please be mindful of this when you are enjoying the swings and hammock and around the chimenea fires. For everybody’s benefit we ask for a respectful quiet period between 11pm and 8am. Lazy Duck is a non-smoking environment.
Regrettably visiting dog/s are not possible on account of the sensitive wildlife in the vicinity. However we can personally recommend a small local kennels, Hilltop Kennels in Dulnain Bridge, offering first class accommodation and individual care at a very reasonable price to enable your pet to get the benefit of the great walks here.
COVID-19 SELF SERVICE CHECK-IN
Until the current Covid-19 restrictions are lifted, Lazy Duck will be operating a self service check in. The practicalities are covered in the links below but please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any further questions. A full status list of activities, attractions and restaurant/bars is being worked on and will be made available as soon as possible.
A bespoke hamper for your stay is available, please contact us by email to arrange. Until guidance has been issued, Well Being sessions are not available.
