Your first stop at the Lazy Duck is Base Camp reception. As you arrive, look for the red roof and the orange sign.

Sit, exhale. Get on the (passwordless) WiFi if you want. Find the map and your path to your hut.

Base Camp dates from 19-o-something and has been a workshop, a venison hanging shed and a store for beetroot in barrels. Probably all at the same time.

The Dell Grocer

The beetroot barrel is gone but fine local venison is still available here, and much more too, thanks to a mini version of the fabulous Dell Grocer across the river at the Dell of Abernethy.

The freezer is packed with delicious home-cooked meals, and our favourite tasty bits and pieces are on the shelves.

Take your pick, and settle up on your phone.
